Vízumügyintézés - Magyarország Nagykövetsége Mexikóváros

Vízumügyintézés

Felhívjuk a figyelmet, hogy 2022. március 1-étől visszavonásig Spanyolország nagykövetségei/(fő)konzulátusai állítják ki a rövidtávú tartózkodásra jogosító vízumokat Magyarország képviseletében. Kérjük ügyfeleinket, hogy amennyiben rövidtávú tartózkodásra jogosító vízumuk kiállítására Magyarország lenne illetékes, forduljanak Spanyolország területileg illetékes mexikóvárosi, guadalajarai vagy monterreyi főkonzulátusához, vagy a konzuli illetékességgel rendelkező spanyol nagykövetséghez a közép-amerikai országokban. (Minden esetben a szokásos tartózkodási hely szerinti országban lévő spanyol nagykövetség/konzulátus az illetékes, Belize esetében a Guatemalában lévő spanyol nagykövetség/konzulátus.)

Long-term residence in Hungary as a third-country national

If you are a citizen of Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua or El Salvador who intends to reside for more than 90 days in Hungary, whether as an employee, student, family member, researcher, digital nomad, etc., then you have two options to submit an applicarion for a residence permit:

1. In Hungary, where you can enter as a tourist without visa (with the exception of Belizean citizens with ordinary passports, who still need a C-type Schengen visa to enter the country). Within the first 90 days of your stay, through the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing (NDGAP), you can apply for a residence permit, either:

- electronically, using the "Enter Hungary" platform (https://enterhungary.gov.hu/eh/?en). This platform only works when you are already in Hungary.

- in person, at a regional directorate of NDGAP responsible for the area of your accommodation in Hungary (https://oif.gov.hu/regional-offices).

or

2. In Mexico City, where you can apply for a residence permit in person at the Consular Office of the Embassy of Hungary (Consulate) and receive the so-called D-type visa, which enables you to pick up your residence permit without any further administration in Hungary, within 30 days after your arrival at a regional directorate of NDGAP. You can apply for a residence permit at the Consulate already 75 days before the planned date of travel. We are unable to receive your documents earlier than that.

We recommend this second option, i.e. to submit your application for a residence permit at the Consulate and get a D-type visa to ensure a smooth entry to the Schengen Area.  Please note, that if you want to stay for more than 90 days for example to study in Hungary, but cannot prove this reason upon entering the Shengen Area, the border authorities may ask for your return ticket. However, if you have a D-type visa with you, it guarantees you an unrestricted entry into the Schengen Area and Hungary and the automatic obtention of your already approved residence permit.

Application Submission at the Consulate:

To submit your residence permit application in person at the Consular Office of the Embassy, you must book an appointment here: https://konzinfobooking.mfa.gov.hu/

For submitting the application in person at the pre-booked appointment at the Consulate you should bring the following documents:

a.  2 forms filled out in advance by hand or on computer:

- Application form for a residence permit (annex no. 9)

- Appendix (corresponding to the reason of stay). For example, "Appendix to the Application form for student, pupil" is for pursuing studies or student mobility (appendix no. 9.13).

To access any other forms: https://oif.gov.hu/forms

If the above link does not work, go to the homepage: https://oif.gov.hu . Switch to English version if needed. On the menu bar, click on "Administration", and below that, click on "Forms".

Important: these two forms are essential for initiating the case, so they need to be completed beforehand; it is not possible to fill them at the Consulate.

b.  A valid passport.

c.  1 ID photo (coloured).

d.  A document verifying the purpose of stay. For example, an acceptance letter to pursue studies, or a preliminary agreement for employment.

e.  Documents verifying the means of subsistence in Hungary. These could be a bank account statement (covering the last three months), declaration of financial support made by a family member, certificate of employment, etc.

f.  A document proving the place of accommodation, such as a verified accommodation booking.

g.  A document verifying the health insurance, like the insurance policy for the duration of stay.

h.  If the applicant is a minor, it must be proven that their parent or legal guardian has consented to their stay in Hungary.

i.  A biometric data collection will take place on-site, during the application submission: photo taking, fingerprinting, and obtaining of signature.

The fee for the procedure is 129 USD. Only card payments are accepted.

All documents must be printed out before handing them in to the Consulate, which we will electronically forward to the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing (NDGAP) for decision-making purposes. The NDGAP will reach a decision in 15-70 days, depending on the application type. Throughout the process, the NDGAP might ask for additional information about which we will notify you via email. In such case, you should scan and send the missing documents to the Consulate.

If the NDGAP approves your application for the residence permit, the Consulate will issue the D-type visa, stuck in your passport, needed for entering Hungary and for collecting in person within 30 days after your arrival the  residence permit card at the regional directorate of NDGAP responsible for the area of your accommodation in Hungary (https://oif.gov.hu/regional-offices). Please note that there is no need to hand in any additional documents when collecting your residence permit card typically valid for 1-3 years (extendable) - depending on the purpose of stay.
